New to martial arts, and not sure. Our instructors will tailor classes and activities to suit the ability of each student.
What to wear to your first lesson
Simply wear a loose fitting clothing, such as a t-shirt, track pants, and suitable footwear e.g. sneakers.
When a member
Training gear consists of a black uniform with the option to wear black tabi
Kyu ranks wear a white, green or brown coloured belt depending on their rank.
Dan grades are black belts with the option of obi.
Classes start on time, so arrive at least 10 minutes to stretch and warm up.
Don't be late, however if you arrive and class has started wait quietly on the side and join in the next technique or when Sensei acknowledges you.
Work through the techniques slowly to avoid suprising and/or injuring your training partner.
Seminars are held once a month on a Saturday and provide the opportunity for members to train together with other Kiwi Dojos for the day.
Seminars are 3 hours and grading occurs at the seminars.
Weapons seminars are held twice a year focusing on Ninja and natural weapons.
We are aligned with Bujinkan Japan and sponsor world class instructors from overseas.
